Yes, you read right. The meat will be lab-grown and the announcement is speculated to happen this year.

The concept utilized to grow meat artificially stems from the process of tissue and cell repair using cells of fats and muscles. 

To understand in simple terms, you may visualize the entire process of growing meat in a laboratory by parallel studying the entire phase of wound healing. 

Basically, the body regulates the revival of damaged cells and within a particular time frame, depending upon the wound type, new tissues/cells regenerate with skin layering.
